I missed the initial article about 'mandating' and didn't think I needed to respond on this subject.

But now I see that you are talking about New York "mandating" something in regard to breast feeding enfants.

With legislation, a mandate means there is no choice and it can be a criminal act to do otherwise. I believe firmly that the government should not control our health care with mandates.

What happen to the role of the 'pediatrician'-------I had the best pediatrician for my daughter imaginable. He came into the hospital room-------we talked about my medical history and family history the various options on feeding and vaccines. A week after leaving the hospital, I was in his office for the beginning of the best experience ever with a doctor.

He was concerned about genetic diseases and about allergy to regular milk as was I. I went with the formula and had the healthiest child imaginable throughout her years at home. Never had a cold or the flu. Had the measles and that was it.

If this is a "mandate" by New York then it should be challenged legally.
