Moderate Dems do deserve a kick in the rear for authorizing such powers for Bush-cheney. The real problem is we cannot trust Bush-cheney at all. They are proven criminals who use any power they have for partisan political games It is too bad we do not have more strong progressives in the congress. Perhaps we can remedy that in 2008. I'd like to see a 60% majority so the GOP cannot stop any of these bills, then impeach Cheney and castatre Bush. Rove and Gonzales to prison. But don't think that's easy to accomplish. Bushies are ruthless dirty fighters and have no ethics whatsoever when it comes to political gamesmanship. Martial law is not even off the table for them.
