True, there is a lot of competition, but there always seem to be a few brands that are the most popular with kids. In the case of snowboards, it seems to be Burton, Ride, and Morrow. Just ask any teenager or listen to ads that are starting to come out. Ride and Morrow are the only pure board plays, and I think Ride has had its day. I'm going to do more research at sporting good stores to see what's selling (or at least what they are expecting to sell). Overall, the sport of snowboarding has still not reached its full potential. More people are converting each year. I see a lot more money to be made in this growing market. Do you have any reason to believe that Morrow would be bought out? I don't think so.
