In this segment of the report they are not referring to the use of Thorium in nuclear reactors. Currently the by product of Uranium is Uranium 239 which decays into weapons grade plutonium. With a reactor that uses a Uranium/Thorium mix the by product produced would be completely unusable in nukes making it EXTREMELY less expensive to dispose of. If it wasn't so expensive to secure and dispose of the waste produced by Uranium in nuclear power plants the world would be using Uranium on a much larger scale. The potential for this company is scary once that reactor is proven to work.
