Heard it here first...SEC/OIG Walter Stchnik has taken up sudden and apparently unannounced retirement. Stachnik is no longer working at/with the SEC as of this week.

Apparently the only IG the SEC has ever had has retired without even a public announcement.

From the Senate report released just Friday....

The SEC established its Office of the Inspector General (SEC/
OIG) in March 1989. Soon after, Walter Stachnik was appointed as the first SEC Inspector General, a position he continues to hold today. Prior to this appointment, Stachnik had served in a variety of positions throughout the government. His office is charged with conducting internal audits and investigations at the SEC.
