LRAD-R® Developer Names Chuck Floyd as Director of Business Development
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Long range acoustic hailing and warning device leader American Technology Corporation (ATC) has named Charles (Chuck) Floyd to head its business development activities in the Washington D.C. area. Floyd will focus on homeland security and military business development for ATC. Floyd has over 20 years in the U.S. Army as a commander and joint staff officer. From 2001 to 2003, he worked for Secretary Colin Powell at the U.S. Department of State as a Congressional and Business Affairs Liaison and as the Managing Director (SES) of Planning and Development at the Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), where he coordinated a $1.5 billion budget and embassy planning with Congress. Recently, Floyd has been working with Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Congress in developing a layered integrated security system for the southern and northern borders.

Floyd will direct American Technology’s initiatives in the Washington D.C. area to incorporate its LRAD® products into a variety of government applications, particularly homeland security and military programs.

LRAD-R is ATC’s proprietary security solution that enables users to determine the intent of potential security threats as well as readily communicate over long distances (up to or in excess of 500 meters) from a remote location. LRAD-R features high acoustic output (peak acoustic levels of 151 dB at the emitter unit), providing a highly effective volume-controlled communications and hailing and warning capability. ATC developed its LRAD technology at the request of the U.S. military after the bombing of the USS Cole in October 2000.
