[Checking in]

John --

I'm back -- or almost back. Right now I'm in San Jose visiting friends and will be headed south in a few minutes. No, I'm not at Amati, and won't be stopping this trip.

I'll tell you all about Yosemite later.

Sorry to be so out of touch. This time I'll have to let you guys fill me in. All I know is that Gary Seamans was in San Jose yesterday, but I don't know what they discussed. I heard from another source that GTE's talking 500K lines of DMT next year. From yet another source I heard AT&T would be buying GTE and making the announcement on Oct. 8. Actually, CNBC scooped my scoop this morning. :))

Now, of course, this brings the family circle even closer.

AMTX = WSTL
WSTL = AT&T connections (check their website if you have any doubts)
AMTX/WSTL = GTE (trials and potential contract)
GTE = AT&T (once merged)

GTE/AT&T + AMTX/WSTL = ?????

As for the ADSL market, I've been told the Amati-Westell combination stands to win 80% of the first contracts.

I don't understand why the stock's been struggling to stay above 18. I'm ready to sell my kids to buy more.

Okay, I'm biased, but, heck, come and tell me about it a year from now, okay?

Gotta run. Have a long drive ahead as it is.

Cheers!

Pat
