Re: >> What do you see, and where...?

On this thread I see posts of Late August date for barc launch, and Sept for system shipments.

I think these dates are optimistic, and reality will be more paper like. You won't see broad OEM adoption until next year, or at least late in the 4th quarter. By broad, I mean Dell, HP, IBM, and Sun offering Barcelona in their Opteron lines. I think the September shipments may only include a single sku or two, and only in ultra low volume.

Re: I think there will be a relief rally that the chip is finally on the market. Good for 10%-20% of AMD share price. To last a few days or weeks until magnitude of q3 loss is more visible.

Sounds plausible, but I think negative reviews on Barcelona could be perceived badly by investors. If AMD's white stallion is a dud (and at 2.0GHz, it might turn out to be), then AMD's future prospects are going to look rather dim. Q3 losses will only add to this; hence, my sale of Jan08 PUTs in order to buy Jan09 PUTs.
