(COMTEX) UUNET AND AT&T RATED AT THE TOP IN ISP CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- UUNet Technologies Inc. and
AT&T WorldNet are rated the top providers of Internet services by
business users, according to a survey to be released on Wednesday at
the Networld+Interop trade show and conference in Atlanta. The survey
was conducted by TeleChoice Inc., a Verona, New Jersey based
telecommunications management consulting firm, in conjunction with the
newspapers Inter@ctive Week and PC Week.

UUNet and AT&T were rated at the top among 10 vendors who were
measured, based on a variety of criteria, including service
reliability, service performance, technical support, price and others.
The measured vendors represent the largest service providers with
national points of presence. Rounding out the 10 vendors were, in
order, GTE/BBN Planet, MCI, Sprint, PSINet, Netcom, Earthlink,
CompuServe and AOL. Business customers said that service reliability
and service performance are the two most important factors driving
their choice of an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
reliability as either critical or very important when choosing an ISP.
Service performance (delay, packet loss and congestion, for example)
ranked a close second at 93% followed by technical support at 88% and
then price of service at 86%.

"Until now no one has published a comprehensive report about how
satisfied customers are with their Internet service providers and how
well ISPs are doing relative to the criteria that matter most to
customers" says Rebecca Wetzel, TeleChoice Director of Internet
Consulting. The goal of the TeleChoice survey is to show what business
customers want and demonstrate to ISPs how they can best serve these
customers needs.

Networld+Interop attendees have the opportunity to join a panel
discussion analyzing survey results to be held on Wednesday October 8
from 2:30-3:30 in Room 204E of the Georgia World Congress Center.
