Bizare as it might sound, it is all too conceivable that this Administration could kill one if "its own" in cold blood to prevent a major high profile "defection" to the anti-war side. I can't see why, given what we have seen so far, we should assume that a political decision to execute him is any less likely that the idea that he was "accidently killed" and then glorified to the max for propaganda purposes by accident. If the White House cannot bring itself to come clean on this it will certainly create a vacuum that will be filled with conjecture, with far too much of it plausible conjecture at that.
