No Nadine - there will be some market event that will make the task doable. Look at it this way - means testing to take SS away from the financially responsible is only a slight step from today's tax the rich mantra. Changing SS when it is necessary will be easy.

Probably. But it will go bit by bit, never impacting the system in a way that impacts the pols who do it. That's what I called "nibbling round the edges" rather than "failing" the system.
