Gus > The report laid the blame for the misinformation on the assistant commissioner who was second in charge, Andrew Hayman. The watchdog group said that Hayman had failed to tell the commissioner what was known about de Menezes as the information unfolded, and that he had personally approved a police news release on the evening of July 22 stating it was "not yet clear" whether the shot man had been one of the bombers of July 21.

It's my opinion that Hayman was probably the only one telling the truth -- as he knew it. That's why they fingered him.

The investigation found that de Menezez was murdered in cold blood, shot in the back of the head, in fact. de Menezez was doing nothing more than sitting quietly in the carriage when the police grabbed him, threw him on the floor, sat on him and then shot him many times. That Hayman can be blamed is a massive distortion of the facts and represents a complete cover-up and whitewash for those who actually did the atrocious killing and also for Commissioner Blair who was responsible for everything that occurred.
