Well, I did not understand why you brought up the rate of inventory obsolesence in the first place. Yes, the market prices of AMD's inventory are comparatively lower. But this is a high fixed cost/very low variable cost business, as long as they are not painfully obsolete, they will be sold at above marginal cost in the next few quarters.

When did Intel increase clock speeds, btw? Did I miss something? They were fucking around with their core counts and bus speeds the last time I checked.

<<<<<<<<<<<<Pirasa, I don't understand your reply. Yes, of course, inventory is on the books at cost. But its market value changes day to day. And when your competitor is increasing its clock speeds much more rapidly than
you are, the market value (not book value) of your inventory is dropping quickly. So you try to sell it when you can. You don't holdonto more than you have to.
