as long as they are not painfully obsolete, they will be sold at above marginal cost in the next few quarters. They are painfully obsolete. When did Intel increase clock speeds, btw? Did I miss something? Quite a bit, evidently. This month, the 3GHZ QC Xeon becomes widely available in a standard power bin. In Q4, Harpertown brings a further increase, along with a jump in IPC. Also in Q4, Yorkville QC arrives for the desktop at 3.33GHz. Look for additional increases in H108. You see, the competition is not standing around waiting for AMD to ramp Barcelona sometime next year.
