Sid: I think the numbers already posted in regards to specific stocks speak for themselves, and see no further reason to get into which particular stocks can outfart each other now or in the future. My portfolio is where I hold that discussion. Eye to eye. Forcasting five years out? forget it! Don't have a crystal ball, and believe that yours is rather murky, at best.
Anyway, we both know that is not the point of this tread, and unlike others here, I've stuck to providing facts, that should make it relatively easy for someone that reads them to realize that the y2k issue is definitely not a hoax, etc.
I have never brought up a single issue by name, only responded regarding those brought up by others, so my posting of facts being called hyping and spaming is? A hoax.
So, back with our eyes on the New Years' ball, set unsubstantiated hype and BS aside, having clearly established that:
1. Most of the companies involved in the y2k sector are making wads of money (see year2000.com list of y2k issues.)
2. Pace of y2k work is accelerating, and will peak in the next two years.
3. The managements of the companies that are presently making wads of money off y2k are probably not totaly stupid, since they had the foresight to get into this sector in the first place.
4. The managements of the companies presently making wads of money off y2k will probably figure out a way to keep making wads of money past y2k, just like Bill Gates figured out what to do after Dos.
5. Of course there are scams in the y2k sector. Show me one that doesn't have any. Yes, I do know the tickers of a few of them.
6. Always invest upon your own Due Diligence. [Duh.]
