Used Mom's kitchen grinder to grind up charcoal briquets, and strained the stuff with her tea strainer. Made a toy cannon from two pieces of copper pipe, one inside the other. Had a lot of trouble getting it to detonate, because it would gush a two-foot flame from the touch hole where I inserted the fuse. Finally went KABOOM really loud, and that's when Dad noticed what I was up to, LOL. Got read the riot act and ordered to cease fire! <g>
