There is a long history of these sorts of outbreaks all over the world, several in Australia and elsewhere, just on the eve of some gun control initiative or the other. And there is usually another common thread: the nutjob is under the care of a shrink and loaded up on prozac and who knows what else.

Larger conspiracy? Probably. Nothing happens by accident anymore.
