This past week had 93CDD, which is why injections look as if they will not show up as negative in next week's report. A similarly hot week last year, inbetween the two draws, resulted in an injection of 19 (91CDD).

The weeks last year that had the two draws had triple digit CDDs. If that had been repeated this year, it is likely that we would have seen a draw. Next week is forecast to be similar, 92CDD.

While the forecast for this past week wasn't off by much, 93 actual vs 97 forecasted, it is amazing that the NOAA was off by so much regionally. CA was forecast to be 25% hotter than normal, but the state actually had some record low temps and an average for the week which was 16% cooler than normal. TX was forecast to be some 10% hotter than normal, but came in marginally less than normal. This speaks volumes about how inaccurate forecasts can be just a week out.
