Whip and All, I am back. InCompetentUSA finally got my cheesy Compaq pc box fixed and it has worked great for the last ten minutes. -g- Here is hoping they found the glitch, though I feel fear and loathing.

Thanks to all who expressed sadness that I was dead. -g- Seriously, I appreciate all the nice notes, none of which I could read with the computer gone, but I will get to them. I don't know if I will be able to answer all the notes I received, so here are some general things I did while the box was on sick leave:

1. I sold all my gold stocks. I still own bullion and I still own my platinum stocks, but gold equities did much better than the glittery stuff, so I punted them.

2. I sold 2/3 of my Gateway puts. I am holding the third in case the market finally wised up on this one. I will buy more, but I am hoping that Compaq's eps send the stock over $30 again so I can buy layups. The bulls usually miss the fact that CPQ is doing well because it is stealing business from Gateway and others. Ditto for Dell. And, though the #s may look good for CPQ and Dell temporarily, their success in no way reflects upon the weak sisters.

3. In the same vein, I sold my last MUEI puts, though it was more from a low absolute price than any suspicion that this dog might rise.

4. I sold my first third of WDC puts. I still own a third. This dog is still WAYYYYY overpriced given the disaster in dollar pc sales, but the bulls haven't realized it yet, so I am calling their bluff but not raising at this price.

5. Other than that, I have had a roller coaster ride at the track lately. Win big one day, lose a little several days in a row, then win big again. But it's fun.

Good luck and here's hoping I'm back to stay. MB
