architecht, I'm a big fan of Gran Tierra (GTRE), have made several posts about it, and own a bunch of it. Their latest farmout of acreage was a watershed event IMO. When a company has gotten to the point where it can farm out prospects on a promoted basis it has in effect created a valuable "off the books" asset. I was wondering how Gran Tierra was going to fund their '08 exploration program and now that question has been answered, in a way that avoids further dilution to the stock price.

I have looked at Petrolifera briefly but passed on it, I got a sense that I missed the train on that one.

I'm not aware of Petrominerales, but would pass on it given its size. Once a company gets over $1B market cap I rarely stay interested in it -- the market for companies of that size and larger is too "efficient" for my taste.

I've looked at Pacific Stratus Energy and am intrigued by it. They are in some very exciting and high potential plays, only some of which are in South America. But I have yet to pull the trigger and buy any stock for some reason. One thing that has me puzzled is, why they haven't listed in the US yet. They would easily qualify for the Amex. When a company chooses not to graduate to a logical next step, for an extended period, it kinda raises a question in my mind.
