This may cause you to think that I am a survivalist but the way I see it is to have several acres of land with family. Have a water well, generator, available trees for warmth and have everybody over twelve issued an automatic weapon with 10 clips and 1000 rounds of ammo and know how to use them.

Have the men sleep in shifts and install a 10 foot fence around your property.

Once you have provisions you can use gold and silver to trade for essentials. I suspect there will be none available at that point so be sure to have a supply of it.

If the dollar fails there will be no emergency police services to protect you. You will have to be self prepared, as such.
