Kind of proposal I would expect from a REMF like him, Take a look at his BG. You would transfer out before you would serve under him.

Disagree
His troop and combat time was an armored calvary officer. He had five Cav assignments. That is one hard hitting outfit. He is also airborne and ranger qualified.

His staff jobs have been as an operations officer...That is the only kind of staff job I ever wanted and I served as an OPS Officer three times. OPS is where the action gets planned and coordinated.
Of course none of that makes him a politician and his new job is certainly political. That could make him a breath of fresh air.

The only thing I see that would keep me from wanting to work for him is he is not SF qualified. But he is hardly a REMF.

I don't believe for a moment, the proposal to consider a draft originated with him. In his new job, he is the white house front man for military activities and actions. He threw a flyer on the table. Good timing too after MCCaffrey's speech to HASC 2 weeks ago. I'll see if I can dig that out and post it.
