GOOG went out in bad market conditions for tech IPOs. I think VMW is a different story though, due to GOOGs success and a few other tech IPOs doing well. My guess is VMW starts off high and cools off like mindmeld says. There is just too much speculation that this is another GOOG. BIDU was another GOOG and may well be one but it rocketed up to 150 per share the first week and took 2 YEARS to get back to that level.
