Sorry for the delay, but it had to take some research to write a reply.

Sunw solaris is SYSV but not posix longdistance packets. it has to use cisco switching hubs(ethernet packets).

But switching hubs are more expensive than individual DSP(Risc, A/D, PWM and FPU) cable modems, which will catch up in transmission speeds by QAM, multiplexers of tdma, cdma, wcdma and gsm with edge.

So, as time goes by, the technology and revenue projection depends largely on telco and cable networks. Satellite needs 21ghz(travelling wave tube) transceivers to catch up on speed.

Present stock value is on par with risk of Sunw not making the correct technology and revenue growth decisions. Triple play(ARRS) technology will enter the decision phrase, sooner than we think?

The vary reason that Warren Buffet stayed with low tech low risk population growth investment opportunities.

However, I have faith that Sunw will look at data transmission technology being a bottle neck to sell more hardware.
