I am looking at the DSP development phase. It seems that the super DSPs have Risc, A/D and PWM, but not yet many more FPUs to do super computer performance with impressive flops that can do better data transmission. We will add FPUs in DSPs on the next generation products. FPUs can do part time data processing duties(simultaneous multicore operations). New cable modems can then be flexible enough to change by software on cheap nand flash memory.
