Dear Joe:

A Shanghai using ZRAM would have 30MB of L3 with an access time of 1-2ns. It could be very useful as a frame buffer for graphics or a large vector storage for SIMD where the access time is less important than its consistency and the total bandwidth. 32MB would be enough for a 1920x1080 HDR frame buffer with 3 SP floating point numbers for each color and one for the Z axis. Imagine a Fusion processor with 2 K10 cores, 2 R600 style cores and a 32MB L3 cache acting as a turbo cache for the video and physics processing with a 250GB/s bandwidth.

Pete
