Many of the analists miss the real reason why the Iraq war failed from the get-go. It really was about taking the oil fields. Every decision has been based on what it would take to get the Iraqi's to cede their rights to their natural resources. That kind of industrial production is something that requires stability, not military might.

Now the administration is left to nothing more than an extortion scheme. Pass the 'oil sharing law' with all of its provision to turn the oil fields over to Cheney and friends, or the administration will continue to surge their butts.

It's still not working. It was never a viable plan.
