Real assets obviously, but in the early stages of a general repudiation of fiat where the currency masters and other speculators are also long the same things, and who then become prone to throwing even their real assets overboard too, the art lies in picking the one that will get pummelled the least, i.e. that nobody else has been hiding in -- in that sense gold is too obvious, and has been/is/will be the target of CB selling (no doubt the CBs all can recite Volcker and his "my only mistake was in not capping the gold price" comments about 1980 -- they will attempt to not make that mistake again)

Hence, IMO we need to find an alternative refuge or refuges, at least initially
