We are addressing the problems developing in the semiconductor industry, unfortunately not before SEMI went into bankruptcy.

The problems are technology related. Many new technology of memories are not yet feasible for mass production, such as Mram, Pcram, and nanocrystals, carbon nanotubes and molecular rams by oxidation and reduxtion. Flash memory are going Nand because of multilayers increasing capacity without real estate increase.

Then on top of this technology wishful thinking, the industry suddenly turn to solution providers(iphone, hand to mouth business) and neglected electronic distribution, which is long term inventory stocking. Without new products to be stocked, electronic distributors such as SEMI will shrink the semiconductor business.

We will start with new super computer DSP design with FPUs in addition to Risc, A/D and PWM plus Flash and drams build in. The multicored Ciscs will be stocked. And Nand flash cards will be stocked even in drug stores and super markets. Set-top boxes will have camera sensors and cameras for video phones on voip.

This is a modest start to revive the semiconductor industry.
