Sure. Right click on My Computer and select Properties. It should default to the General tab, and under the Computer header it should tell you how much RAM.

But, if you only have 512 meg., that is your problem. It was borderline until fairly recently. But now it isn't enough. Especially if you have a lot of tabs open on your browser.
