TJ,
I have some of your favorite metal, partly thanks to you. <grin>

And not only do I think it possible that MM funds will melt down, at some point in the future I think it is quite likely the the nukes will fly. My greatest worry in this regard is MacDill AFB which is about 100 miles away and is the local potential ground zero. Beyond that, we are capable of being self sufficient in food production on a household basis, having a big garden.

I have some advice for you: Get your Coconut into martial arts classes as soon as she is old enough. Mine are and they love it. Theirs is Jujutsu, which is essentially defensive skills. It is all in the instructor, you need one who is good with kids, and I would think that in your neighborhood there are some great ones. You need a fairly large class size too, at least a dozen students or more, because they learn by watching the other students.

This is a character building exercise. What it does is build self confidence and teach respect for others. AND, (you will like this <grin>) it teaches the student to "size up" an opponent but to do it in a very respectful manner.

I think it is especially good for girls. And of course it is great exercise and low risk with regards to permanent injury. I think I would avoid the brick busting "judo" type instruction. And it may save your kid someday in the very uncertain world we face.

My kids are crack shots with a rifle too, but I doubt the government will let you do that there in HK. Or do they? Still, the martial arts is more important, overall.
