Scouring the local paper to see if I can find something on topic for this thread. Hmmm, not really. So, we'll have to settle for this tidbit unless something more topical comes along...

Ras Al Khaimah: Three men have been sentenced to a year each in jail for dressing like women.

The suspects rejected the verdict by the Misdemeanour Court here, demanding freedom to act and dress the way they desire.

A senior court official said the suspects in their early twenties were caught while purchasing items meant for women.

The suspects dressed like women and carrying bags full of female clothes and accessories after a round of shopping triggered suspicion in the shopowner. They were also using the female trial room.

The official said a female customer suspected that one of the three was a man. The woman called the shopowner and started to shout. The owner called the police.

The court official said the suspects did not harass any female customer in the shop nor did anyone complain.

The police official told the suspects to reveal their identity, but they refused.

Eventually, police officials found out that the suspects were men dressed in female clothes. Public Prosecution pressed charges against them.
