The exclusive vs. non-exclusive question is whether cashed data is exclusively in one location (no other copies of data exists in other levels of caches) or if there can be the same copy of the data in more than one cache location.

AMD's L1 + L2 are, and will continue to be strictly exclusive. However, L3 may have some data that is in L1+L2 of some of the cores. That is my understanding of Barcelona L3.
