Hi Mike,

It's kind of hard to characterize Crichton's stand on global warming exactly. I walk away with the idea that he thinks the science isn't convincing and that it should be monitored for 10-20 years to see if any of the climate models can accurately predict what is going on. His biggest fear is that the developing world is going to pay a lot more dearly than the developed world if we go off and do something radical to try to reverse global warming. Too bad we are wasting $13 billion/month in Iraq when we could have used this money to subsidize alternative sources of energy. And I wonder how many wind turbines those 190,000 AK-47 rifles that we gave away to the insurgency would have bought? <NG>

Here's the Charlie Rose interview with Critchon where HE explains where he stands on the issue.
