Venkie, thanks for the kind words. My purpose was to inject a little sanity on this thread. We seem to have attracted some people like Candle Stick who had an unreasoned premonition of gloom and doom for Dell, and others (who shall go nameless) who have unreasonably high expectations for this company ($150 by Xmas). The question I posed to you is the inverse of the same questions I posed to the bears (for which I never received a response).

I am content to watch my investment in Dell appreciate in accordance with its growth rate, and I would be tickled pink to see it gain at about 30% per year for the next several years. I also think that we may see a lowering of LT interest rates over the next year which will also add to the appreciation of the stock.

The worrisome feature of Dell is that there is nothing proprietary about this business. It is simply a very efficient assembly and marketing company. This is the major reason I don't forsee an expansion of it's P/E.

Regards,

Paul
