Do contrarian/bears like Grant have some kind of mental crisis when everything they have been predicting starts to come true?

only if they went broke during the boom -g-.

Russ Winter is going through the same thing - suddenly right at his Minsky Moment he wants to give up blogging because he doesn't get enough money for it and isn't appreciated enough.

hmm, why doesn't he come back to SI? it's free, but at least he has a lot of peoplemarks -g-.

Anyway, I was really looking forward to Grant's this week, and was disappointed.

hey, cut the guy a little slack--he was getting ready for vacation -g-.

Maybe because the FT and WSF lately read almost like and issue of Grant's?

i resemble that remark. it gives me pause, even though i'm not a natural short.

Regarding Grant's euro-dollar idea: Can retail investors do that kind of thing? Do you need a forex account?

i don't have a futures acct anymore, but i think they can be used to trade forex--i forget if you have to sign a separate forex form. it seems to me one could accomplish a similar thing using FXE as the underlying.

me, i prefer to make a directional bet: the dollar's going up against everything but the yen. i am long USD and JPY, and will stay that way until the stuff i actually want to be long is beaten into a bloody pulp -g-.

i would like to buy some "stupid currencies", like NZD, at about 20% off today's prices. also would love BRL below .40.
