Anyone scooping up PM stocks here with the HUI approaching Sliders lower range level at 305-310? Buffet, et all may be buying selected financials because they know there's a floor for sub-prime (bail out by US taxpayer) and have deep pockets to wait while things turn. Got to be inflationary..... wonder if there'll be a Congr. investigation into this financial mess? Was this done to promote home ownership to forestall the big mess coming when the boomers come to claim there ss entitlement (home ownership for all, sort of a govt hoped forced savings plan).Or a case where the cat got out while they were letting out the dog ,an attempt to steal what equity the American public had in their home. Which is the way it may work out for many. If so, the ss fund may be all there is left to plunder. Who in their right mind thought lending 110% of the equity of a piece of real estate to someone who had shown little past indication of successful financial mgt.... and then to have the loan pays go up, sometimes double in a few short years...would end in anything but disaster ?
