Thanx for correcting my misconceptions. With EDGE, I followed Dr. Jacob's "light-of-day" read and the processes that created the 3GPP GSM GERAN fell into a time void resulting from that false sense of security.

Now that you have enlightened me, it is amazing how similar the creation process for 3GPP standard committees fits in with the creation process of the H.264 JVT. With Judge Brewster's ruling, having to deal with such convoluted processes seems to have little legal merit. As others have better said before me, it seems, haphazard participation in any SSO provides unique opportunities for others to confiscate your property. Much like participating in the stock market, I guess.
