"I don't think he enforces that rule - for doug at least."

I do enforce it. What I don't do is count the posts all the time. I've been busy for the past few days and I haven't had all that much time to devote to things. That has changed.

Regardless, I depend on others to help me with the speed limit thing. I am trying to decide between the 24 or 48 hour limit because those are the most common. I am leaning towards the 24 hour limit, with, as Doug suggests, the time limit is from when I am notified.

"I still can't figure out why doug is exempt for some rules..."

He isn't exempt. I've tried to reduce the strictness of the rules. I tend to issue private warnings if things are getting bad, that seems to work, even with Doug. I don't want to ban people at the drop of the hat. Some things are objective, like with the speed limit. Others are not. Insults are pretty subjective. I will grant Doug that "sorry ass loser" probably counts. I had a full plate at the time and didn't really want to give the mental energy to the task. In that, I was probably remiss. IIRC, the same post called me a "worthless moderator". Which may or may not count, but as moderator I want to avoid even the slightest suspicion that I am retaliating for a perceived personal slur.

Realize that I have a life outside of SI. I try to keep up, but sometimes things flow so...
