... ban off/ [since the subject is so interesting] TJ. NZ$1 went 80c to 69c = 14% drop from a week or two ago.

QCOM dropped from $42 to $35 in the same time = 16%

A 2% drop isn't too bad considering the thrashing QCOM is taking in a series of court cases which I guess will cost $3 bn [and has cost a lot more than that in market capitalisation].

Meanwhile, QCOM's profits continue to grow faster than my nose, eyebrow, and ear hairs. I suspect I am closely related to a werewolf, chimp or the like.

Since I have a stash of US$ sloshing around, wondering what to do with themselves, the moves are not all bad for me. Since the housing, currency and financial market moves were rather obvious, and I kindly pointed out to you the vast profits you could make by shorting the NZ$, it would have been unwise to not position myself towards the inevitable events.

The legal results have been a substantial surprise to me given the history and standards of QUALCOMM over the decades. QCOM is getting a thrashing from various judges. I did expect legal attacks, but not quite as they are coming. When lawyers and politicians see piles of money, they find reasons to attack. They don't stand around applauding.

Look at Horie in Japan, Livedoor's boss until grabbed and hauled off to prison for trumped up charges. When he became uppity, they found something, as any legal system can do, on anybody, because laws are absurdly complex, numerous, arcane, opaque and ambiguous - deliberately so, for the very purpose of attacking anyone they want to.

On your scientific discovery; it is a well-established fact that watching tides come and go and seasons drift by, causes nails and hair to grow quickly. You will notice a lot more than fingernails growing quickly on Erita. Hayes-boy [2.1] is undergoing a linquistic and cognitive tsunami. Already, Tarken-san [age 30] is up to making things such as zenbu.net.nz and has a few grey hairs. It seems just yesterday he went off to school for the first time, which was just a few days after he started toddling.

I shall go shopping with my US$ one of these days./ban on ...
