C2, Irwin Jacobs is no longer running the show. It is not in the least surprising that he knows little of what's going on nowadays in the details. < What a statement by IMJ, huh? Q not working on alternatives and that he knew nothing about the case.>

Why should he know anything about the case? It was a silly little "no downside" case on the periphery of what mattered which was a minor licensing agreement with Broadcom.

He would only have known about the "working on alternatives" on advice of those in charge of alternatives.

It's a perfectly reasonable statement.

It would be more surprising if he did have more than a passing familiarity with the details of such things.

Because of the importance it has taken on in recent weeks since Rudi Webster's extreme comments about "taking hostage", "concealment" etc, we see Irwin Jacobs involved, giving evidence etc.

With the reasonable expectation of getting licences from Broadcom and Nokia, there isn't much point in spending a fortune trying to come up with alternatives to their patents. Especially when the court decisions are quite surprising and contrary to expectations.
