True. And mostly they play to the NIMBY crowd. The regulations on the books greatly slow a project, but there are ways around them now.

Then there is a local issue that can be raised. It should be raised and thrown in the face of any politician who gets close to the issue.

You have to realize that I am pretty pragmatic with respect to nuclear power. I realize there are problems, and some of those problems cannot be addressed at the moment, like waste disposal. But, the amount of dangerous waste to be disposed is fairly small, and could be much smaller if we reprocessed.

And maybe we can launch an entire moon base on day on top of a Project Orion booster. Then we can collect the He3 and have practical fusion plants...
