"I've heard about the mounting Christian flight from Iraq, but we probably can't do much about it."

Most *all* minorities are fleeing that beleaguered artificial nation called 'Iraq' (though probably a lot of Kurds are perhaps just relocating in Iraqi 'Kurdistan', or in places like Kirkirk, where Arabs are being driven out).

Of course, there are PLENTY of people from the more dominant groups (Shia and Sunni) who have fled the country too. UN estimates 'several million' have fled. (Out of a total population that was, what? About California-sized at around 30 million or so at the start of the occupation?) Meaning that Iraq has probably lost more population (percentage wise) then any other country on Earth in the past decade or so.

After all... who wants their family to be living in the middle of a bloody, murderous Civil War?

As far as 'not being able to do much about it', I disagree.

I believe there is plenty we can do about it... and the MOST useful thing we could do would be to end the American occupation, would would much speed-up the necessary process of the locals relocating to defensible border lines --- a necessary prerequisite for any lasting peace.
