This is not a newspaper, this is a bona fide, hardcover, 240-page, indexed, $26.95 book. This is right up there with Cervantes and Shakespeare and Bulwer-Lytton. You should feel honoured (or, if you prefer, honored) ;-)
I'm just PO'd because I didn't get a mention. Of course, she would have misspelled my moniker anyway. This thread could make a great book, of course the problem would be in the editing. David Z. did pretty well, imho.
Everybody's got a different point of view. I've been involved in several situations that were covered by the media, and never saw them get it exactly right, even when they had the general idea correct (imho), there was always something I would have changed if I'd been the editor.
And I do think she has the general idea right in this book, minor criticisms aside, and the research is extensive, there is information that is not on this thread, mostly background of the promotion industry and the history of the scam and its principal scamsters. One day I'll ask Adrian privately what good juicy stuff didn't make the final edit. You just know there's more, especially on Walsh's dealings with Timmins, Devlin, and Thorpe.
Wait till it's in the library, though <g>.....buenas tardes .... marcos |
