I don't see how Qualcomm can bring a WCDMA suit before the Dec '08 option expires. On second thought, legal challenges may be possible after Nokia misses the first royalty payment in the upcoming quarter.

I think others have disagreed with me as well. My assumption is that exercizing the option would involve notification of Qualcomm....but perhaps the contract is written in another way.

I will say this, Q's public comments seem to indicate that they want to pursue this through arbitration. I guess we'll see if anything changes after the end of September.
