Two drilling programs have taken place on the Adlatok 2 property.
June and early July, 1996 - A total 2291 feet (698.48m) of core drilling in 11 holes. Drilling encountered sections, several meters thick, in both the central and eastern zones with sulphide content from 5-8% and elevated nickel/copper/cobalt content. The regionally extensive gabro sill is exposed over a 25 km strike length.
Work in the mid-1996 on the property has demonstrated the microgabbro / troctolite basal of the pants lake gabro has two separate, sulphide enriched zones with elevated Ni and Cu values. It clearly shows the presence of sulphide enrichment and textural variation associated with magnetic precipitation of Cu and Ni sulphides. In particular, identification of leopard texture both in the Pants Lake sill and the Voisey's Bay deposit, demonstrates parallels between both areas. It enhances exploration potential.
Conceptual models at the Voisey's Bay deposit are a useful guide for further exploration. At Voisey's Bay, within a broad, moderate content of magmatic sulphides, higher grade zones are present in particular, where gabro or troctolite sills change dip or have embayments. In that context, the east segment of the Pants lake sill, where the sill has a steeper dip, becomes a favourable exploration target. This area should be further explored for occurrences of massive or semi-massive sulphides.
Several of the holes had very interesting results, which showed the potential of the property to host a significant copper / nickel deposit.

Assay results show the presence of two separate sulphide enriched zones within the gabro. The sulphide enriched zones are often associated with the leopard texture zone, which is similar texture to the core at Diamond Fields.
Mid October, 1996 - 3 feet of snow fell as drilling commenced. The operator could not anchor the drill properly and had to move it to a place away from the target. Drilling did not produce any significant results.
Teck has developed new techniques to aid in the selection of targets. The drilling is and will be taking place around the Adlatok 2 property. The JV on this property has to be completed before any work is being done. It is being worked on right now.
Exploration, drilling, and negotiations with major mining companies are continuing on Pallaum's Nevada projects. |
