Had an interesting discussion with Kirby today about this being a 'Bear Trap'... then I was watching BNN and Roth, a prominent analyst said the exact same thing... this rate cut is only a bandaid solution... the Real Estate bubble is now burst, but it was created by Greenspan's liquidity solution after the Tech bubble burst... this Bernanke solution will only fuel another bubble to burst... we have been talking about this for years, that when the government gets involved and tries to circumvent nature, it invariably screws up other things... the task for us now is to try and figure out where the next crack in the dike will appear and that will be the sector we should short... Tech looks good and it is about time for people to upgrade (3-5 years) plus with Vista running on many platforms without any major problems, people with be upgrading their hardware to run the latest software...
actual Real Estate market in Canada will run into problems this winter (because we usually run 6 months behind the U.S.), so the financial sector looks like it is getting set up for a fall or will lower interest rates save their bacon?
Well Roth said that this is the first stage of a Bear Market... The next few weeks should be interesting, but I still see Commodities continuing their rise... the question is what sector to short next?
