Just because Bush has spent money hand over fist doesn’t mean Republicans are ready to embrace Democrats as fiscal conservatives.

I would not expect them to. The GOP can still claim that tenet despite some recent activity to the contrary.

I would, however, expect Republicans to either oppose socialized medicine and welfare or think twice about their party affiliation.
