I've never had smoked eel and it would be an adventure to try it.

I used to hot smoke Northern Pike and made a dip out of the meat. As I recall I mixed the smoked meat with cream cheese, mayo and chopped green olives. It was good on crackers and I could eat it on the deck as the flies didn't like it.
