Art, I think you should read Dano's article again with a view to what PJ's comments mean taken as a whole. Note the unacceptably long time for settlement and unacceptability of any capitulation considered against a NEW strategy that is both aggressive and nonreactive, that removes the focus from Nokia and Broadcom per se, that primarily involves in-house counsel and involves the direct oversight of top management. What you are describing - taking each case at a time (while hoping for a global solution) - is not a new strategy but business as usual. That just means more and more litigation around the world using outside counsel which Paul says they are NOT going to do. Paul is telegraphing Spinco 2. If Nokia doesn't want that to happen they better get on it. Either way I'm thrilled (although I don't understand the full implications of Spinco) because the status quo must end. We cannot withstand 2 or 3 more years of this. Cheers, bdog
